About Copper Kettle Celtic Online Gifts

36 Years of Providing quality gifts from the British Isles and New England.

The Copper Kettle was opened in Coconut Grove, FL in 1973 by Ann Cooper, originally from Ely in Cambridgeshire, England. Located just 14 miles from Cambridege, Ely is the home to Ely Cathedral, considered by many to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Medieval World. Honoring her English heritage, Ms. Cooper featured English gifts, leather goods, small antiques, and copper wares at the store.

Pam Edwards began working at the Copper Kettle in 1977 and helped move the store to the Commodore Plaza location in 1980. In 1983 Pam and husband John Edwards purchased the store and, since John was from Wales, expanded the offerings to include merchandise from Wales, Scotland, and Ireland - a true Celtic mix.

In 1986 Pam and John moved the store five miles south to South Miami. The new location featured ample parking and was close to the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami. For many years Pam and John were involved in the South Miami Merchants Association.

In the late 1990's, the store name was changed to Copper Kettle Celtic to highlight the breadth of the gift offerings.

After the small South Miami downtown area was besieged by several construction projects, the Copper Kettle Celtic moved another five miles south to the Colonial Palms Shopping Center on SW 136 ST across US 1 from The Falls Shopping Center. At this time the Copper Kettle Celtic reduced its inventory of leather goods and began carrying more Irish items. Pam's grandmother was from County Armagh in Northern Ireland. Sadly, John Edwards passed away in 2004.

From 2006-2010 the store was located at 14305 S Dixie HWY on US 1 just south of The Falls.

The newest location for the Copper Lettle Kettle is now at 13839 S Dixie HWY on the second floor of the Apollon Plaza across from The Falls.
